Tristan Chirico studied Political Philosophy and History at Wesleyan University, graduating with honors in 2006. In 2016, he received an MA in Psychology from Columbia University Teachers College, and is currently working towards a PhD in Clinical Psychology at The New School for Social Research.

Before entering graduate school, he taught Philosophy and Theater for five years at King’s Academy, an independent high school in Amman, Jordan. In 2012, he also designed and implemented an online course on human rights for the Global Online Academy, a consortium of top private schools from around the world.

Tristan is passionate about helping young people build on their existing strengths to attain their full academic potential. During his years as a teacher, he learned that this requires not only gaining mastery of material, but also developing effective study skills. He he prioritizes training in both of these areas while working with students. As a tutor with Cohen Math Prep, Tristan offers academic support in a range of subjects including psychology, history, social studies, ELA and writing.
