At Cohen Math Prep, we have experience with the routines and faculties of many schools throughout New York City (mostly Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens). When helpful or necessary, we will contact your children’s teachers to help them meet the demands of their classes. We have intimate knowledge of the inner workings of many individual schools as well as the NYC school system at large (whether it be public, private, or Catholic).

We can help you to keep track of important dates for various standardized tests. We have extensive experience with New York City’s Gift and Talented (G&T) program as well as with the various Specialized High Schools. Not only have we tutored students at these schools, but we have also helped to prepare students for admissions tests and guide parents through the sometimes overwhelming process.

As the Common Core becomes more refined in its adoption across the school system, we are noticing more and more similarities in the curriculum across the vast array of New York City schools. All the same, certain schools tend to retain their various idiosyncrasies or added rigor.
